- Faith. The Bible says without faith it is impossible to please God. We believe God made the universe and He made each of us with an individual plan and purpose. We believe He will judge all of us one day. We believe that Jesus is God’s Son, that He died on the cross so that we can be forgiven by God, that He rose again and is alive today. Jesus calls each one of us to repent of (turn away from) our sins and make Him Lord of our lives. When we do that He give us His Spirit and leads us day by day. We believe He answers our prayers and that as we grow in faith and obedience to Him we experience more of His joy, healing and freedom in our lives.
- The word of God. We believe the word of God in the Bible is authoritative for all matters of faith and life. We teach it to show us how we ought to live, how to be blessed by God, and what we believe to be the truth; and we read it to hear God speaking into our everyday lives and situations.
- Love. Jesus showed us that God is a loving Father who cares for each of us, and we are to show that same love to one another and to those around us. Love means we learn to be patient and to forgive one another. It means no one is unacceptable to God whatever they have done. It means we do not boast of our wealth or our abilities and that each person is important to God.
- Obedience. Obeying God is the key to knowing His blessing and to being used by Him. We have to make Him Lord of every area of our lives including our money, our homes, our relationships and our families.
- Humility. Jesus came to serve ordinary people by loving them, healing them, forgiving them and dying for them. He said the greatest person is the one who serves. We do not look down on anyone and believe everyone has a part to play in the body of Christ.
- Holiness. Holiness means having integrity, not pretending to be something we are not but admitting our shortcomings, seeking to obey Jesus in thought and word and deed. We recognise there are many things in this world that are displeasing to God and we want our lives to be free of these things. Whether married, single or young we want to learn to be pure in every way.
- Freedom. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We want to experience the freedom of the Spirit by learning to express ourselves in worship, and by being loosed from the control of addictions, fears and insecurity. We make time to pray with and for each other and to speak out the word of God over our lives.
